June 1, 2008: Loss of some mp3 and multimedia newsgroups from main servers
Dear Customers, If you regularly use our mp3 and mutlimedia newsgroups and have recently noticed the loss of some groups from our main servers have no fear. We have an alternate server address that still carries those groups. If you need to access those groups send us an email with your account user name and we'll set up your account to access the alternate server.
Oct. 5, 2005: DNS problems and network connections
One of our main bandwidth suppliers has suffered a failure in their network, possibly a major router. We are working with them on the problem. They are afraid this might not be fixed for at least another 24hrs. We apalogize for the inconvenience and will have it back up as fast as possible. This is not affecting all of our customers, apparently it depends on what route your ISP uses to connect through the internet so some of you will not experience any problems.
June 27, 2006: Everything running smooth, retention excellent
No news is good news, retention is way up, speeds are excellent and business is booming.
April 9, 2004: The Latest!
Here is the latest:

1.East coast. For all practical purposes all our rearrangements\upgrades are done. I have also split the servers back to what they used to be. This also means the download limits are back. I am expecting by noon on Friday 100% of the customers to be hitting the correct machines which will bring down the traffic 2-3 times. I hope performance after this will be outstanding. Completion – since yesterday the groups appear to be coming in virtually fully complete (95%+).I will make sure this remains the case. Retention – just as an example dvdr currently has about 3.5-4 million headers. This is about 4 times what it used to have. I also had a drive failure on images-east couple of days ago and due to the new RAID redundant implementation we did not loose any articles from the spool. I don’t mean to sound too optimistic but I am super excited on the east coast future.

2.West coast. The move is complete. We are yet to configure it fully like the east coast but hardware-wise everything is in place. We are looking into ways to boost completion to the levels on the east. We have couple of new powerful machines yet to bring online to host adult and exe stuff.

On another note, now that all the servers are back up we will be resetting the download limits on all the servers so that they are in line with our stated policy on our web site, 500 mg per day from each and every server both east and west coast.

Nov. 20, 2003: Server Address Changes, no more anonymous.alibis.com or cache.alibis.com
On Thursday Nov. 20 we will be making some changes to the server farm. We will be eliminating two servers completely, anonymous.alibis.com and cache.alibis.com they will no longer be online. We will be increasing the download limits on all of the east coast servers by 100 mg per day at the same time.
